Wild Dove Marketing was founded by Carol A. Wilcox, a veteran information entrepreneur and marketing expert with over 20 years of diverse experience. Carol comes from a family of entrepreneurs from the sales, manufacturing, retail and food and beverage industries and developed a high degree of business acumen at an early age.
She has been a successful entrepreneur having owned her own specialty retail and foodservice business on the east coast for several years. She was responsible for managing the marketing and media relations for her enterprise and as a result the business became well known throughout the world as a tourist destination and was featured in many travel and leisure publications. Her business was also often featured on national and local television and radio.
Utilizing her business skills in 1998 Carol accepted the position of Executive Director for an east coast chamber of commerce where she achieved business development through leadership, community relations, fund raising and marketing. She developed business building conferences and seminars for small and medium sized businesses. As the spokesperson for the organization, Carol’s approach to promoting regional tourism for the community earned her congressional and state awards for excellence in tourism marketing.
In 2004 Carol joined a real estate investment firm headquartered in Arizona as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. Carol’s responsibilities included providing critical input into the direction, forecasting and strategic marketing activities of the organization. She formed a marketing department for the company and hired a small team of marketing professionals.
Carol was responsible for the oversight of external positioning to the media and the general public including overseeing a book launch project and providing thought leadership strategies to senior management. She coordinated media interviews and developed talking points and was professionally trained in media and crisis communication strategies.
Carol's other responsibilities included writing and editing copy for sales and marketing materials including corporate identity, direct response campaigns, client education materials, website, newsletters, brochures, press releases and requests for proposals.
With the desire to own a company that would combine her multi-faceted marketing and communications experiences, Carol formed Wild Dove Marketing to work specifically with clients who want to achieve their own unique marketing goals.
Carol enjoys working from her virtual office in Arizona with her Whippet, Collette (the resident office assistant), and with clients across the country on a variety of marketing and communications projects. She has written several business and marketing articles focused on entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses and regularly posts business building information on her blog.
